Conductivity is used as a process control measurement and for
environmental monitoring. The parameter may be used to indicate
strong acid/base solutions such as used with in CIP. The parameter
can also be used to indicate trace level contamination of pure-water.
Environmental applications include water quality within rivers and
lakes. Additionally, the parameter is widely installed to indicate
saline intrusion and surface water recharge of sub-surface aquifers
and borehole water abstraction sites.
