WWEM 2010 - Pollution Process Monitoring - Stand 73

TOX - Toxicity/Nitrification Inhibition

Toxicity measurement can be used on water and waste-water samples. The parameter’s key use is to protect treatment plants especially activated sludge, from the ingress of toxic chemicals which include heavy metals, pesticides, inorganic and organic pollutants. Additionally, abstracted waters may contain a diverse range of pollutants and measuring the nitrification inhibition of the sample, is a useful way to indicate the presence of a wide range of harmful contaminants.
