Suspended Solids is the total amount of particulate held in
suspension within an aqueous sample. The symbol SS mg/L is used
here to denote high concentrations and may be performed in-line
using a light scatter measurement indicating the total amount of
suspended solids in a sample. Typical applications include monitoring
activated sludge concentrations.
