Analytical ammonia measurement
The Proam analyser is a simple, compact and reliable instrument that is typically configured for ammonia measurement. The analytical technology is ideally suited to compliance monitoring of effluent discharges from municipal and industrial sites. Similarly, the instrument is equally capable when used to monitor raw water to indicate the presence of untreated sewage prior to potable water treatment. The latest design incorporates many enhanced features including a dual speed peristaltic pump for improved functionality and reduced calibration times.
- Updated design with dual speed pump
- Self validating measurements
- Automatic 2-point calibration
- Automatic acid cleaning
- Diagnostic alarms
- Continuous or continual measurement
- Dynamic measuring range to 1,000mg/L N
- Optional sample preparation
- Ammonia, Nitrate, Chloride or Flouride
- Low maintenance
- Low purchase price
The Proam system uses the very latest ISE measurement technology to reliably report the ammonia concentration without the need for sample preparation (for samples containing less than 100mg/L solids). The measurement technique is not influenced by the turbidity, colour or dissolved ion content of the sample. Consequently it is often the preferred method for online measurement of waste-water.
The design incorporates large diameter internal pipe work combined with pinch valves to control the delivery of sample, calibration standards and cleaning solution to a reaction vessel that contains the measurement electrode. The internal pipework is automatically cleaned using an acid to remove biological fouling or chemical precipitates. The frequency and duration of the cleaning cycle may be adjusted specifically to suit the application. The instrument may also be configured to rinse the complete length of sample transfer line with acid. This configuration is beneficial for applications where the internal sample delivery system is used to obtain the sample direct from source.
Measurement validation is particularly important for applications such as compliance monitoring. The two-point automatic calibration routine is typically performed daily to verify the performance of the instrument and indicate when maintenance should be performed. All signals to telemetry are held during the calibration and cleaning routines.
Many successful installations throughout the UK prove testament to the quality of this product.
